The Diocese of Kinkiizi (Church of Uganda) and the Kellermann Foundation seek candidates for the Executive Director of the Batwa Development Programme (BDP), headquartered in Nkwenda Cell, Buhoma Town Council, Kanungu District. The Executive Director (ED) provides inspired, mission-rooted leadership in guiding the BDP’s mission to assist the Batwa people as they emerge from poverty and achieve an improved and sustainable quality of life. As the moral, spiritual, and organizational leader of BDP, the ED oversees all programmes, staff, finances, grants, partnerships, and community engagements. The ED serves as the primary liaison to the Kellermann Foundation, maintains close relationships with the Bishop of the Diocese of Kinkiizi, and represents the BDP to all stakeholders in a manner consistent with its mission. The role requires cultural sensitivity, strong organizational leadership, dedication to the Christian faith, and a commitment to empowering Batwa communities across all areas of development, including education, spiritual growth, livelihoods, health, and civic engagement.

At minimum, the successful candidate will: (1) demonstrate his or her proven success in NGO administration, (2) possess an advanced degree in a field related to the BDP’s purpose and/or mission, (3) pledge willingness to locate in Buhoma for the majority of his or her time spent at work, and (4) be able to articulate both why the BDP’s mission is worthy of the gift of his or her talents and energy and how he or she hopes to direct it towards an ever brighter future.
