Bwindi Community Hospital Expands with Dental-Vision Clinic Groundbreaking

In mid-January, Bwindi Community Hospital celebrated the groundbreaking of a new Dental-Vision Clinic with Dr. Scott Kellermann, strategic partners, clergy, staff, and community members in attendance.

This 17,000 square-foot facility which will combat preventable oral and eye diseases has been a long-time dream for the hospital. The extreme shortage of dental and vision care providers in southwest Uganda has impacted the quality of health and the well-being of individuals in this region.

The clinic will also offer a training program for dental officers and educational lectures to healthcare students, professionals, and the public. Within the building there will be a dedicated space to facilitate dental and vision learning for students and visiting healthcare professionals.

We are excited for this expanded service offering at Bwindi Community Hospital and the range of interventions and treatments that the Bwindi Community Hospital Dental-Vison Clinic will bring to the entire region.
